These things have I written unto you that believe on the name of the Son of God; that ye may know that ye have eternal life, and that ye may believe on the name of the Son of God. -- I John 5:13

"I'd Rather Have Jesus Than Anything!"
Key Passage(ICorinthians 15:51-58)
By Evangelist Clifford M. Smith, Th.D.

As a Christian, God has guided my life and been near to me in times of trouble(In the "Shadow of Death"). I'm so thankful for His great gift of Salvation, that was paid on the "Cross of Calvary!" I've been at several death beds with Christians and most said, "I wish, that I would have given Jesus more of myself!" I believe, that when you realize who Jesus really is, you'll say "I'd rather have Jesus than anything!"

Where were you on 9/11/2001? The U.S.A. was in shock at the callapse of the Twin Towers in New York City and the near destruction of the Pentagon Building in Washington D.C. Americans called out to God through prayer and started flying the American Flag.

When I'd go to church, the grocery store, the gas station and other places, people would say to me "God Bless America!" But you know, I never heard anyone say, "May America Bless God!" I believe, that America needs to wake-up and realize, that we need God on a daily basis, instead of when times are bad. Please put Christ first in your life!

I've said all of this to say, you can have all the riches, fame, fun, enjoyment and power of this world, but if you lose your own soul, you have nothing(Matt.16:26). My God (Jehovah-Jireh Gen.22:14) is the provider of all my needs. King David said in Psalms 37:25 "I have been young and now am old; yet have I not seen the righteous forsaken, nor his seed begging bread." As a Christian, we are adopted as the Lord's sons and daughters; he has put the Spirit of Christ into our hearts(II Corinthians 6:18, Galatians 4:5,6). You know yourself , that this world offers only temporary satisfaction for mankind, but Christ offers eternal joy and satisfaction! The Bible says, that the emptiness of this world shall pass away(I Corinthians 7:31).

In Closing, let me say that, that you can have all that this world offers, but "I'd rather have Jesus than anything!"
