This book is designed for the young and old, the novice student and the scholars, and for the Christian: as well as for the unsaved. Most people should be able to read this book within an hour or less. I guarantee, that anyone that reads this book and takes God at His word will not have any doubts of their "Eternal Security" or "Assurance of Salvation" ever again.

I - The Doubting Syndrome

The syndrome of "Doubt" has effected everyone at some point in their lifetime. Satan thrives on placing "doubt" in the minds of people. "Doubt" produces many different actions in people. Some of these are as follows: 1) Discouragement 2) Depression 3) Uselessness 4) Suicide. These examples are of a mind given-over to "self and to the works of the devil. Satan is the "author of confusion." God is not! (I Corinthians 14:33) God is faithful and true in all things. Everything that Satan touches ends up rotten. Satan is also the "Father of Lies and Temptation!" He uses people to do his dirty work and when he's finished with them he throws them in the garbage dump. He lures people into his work by using the empty things of this world such as fame, fortune, and pride. Truly, Satan is the master of deceit and should be known around the world as "Public Enemy No. 1," but he's not, because people love sin too much.

On the other hand, the Lord Jesus Christ is the "King of Hope and Assurance" to all who put their trust in Him. By accepting God's Word we have his promises that we can stand upon. Jesus Christ gives to all believers a "Know-So Salvation" instead of a "Hope-So Salvation."

Satan brings doubt into the lives of believers that makes them stop daily Bible reading and prayer, attending Church services faithfully, telling others about Christ and also causes them to stop giving financially to the work of the Lord. "Doubt" destroys the lives of many Christians because they start doubting God's Holy Word.

Over my sixteen years in the ministry I have spoken to thousands that claim that they have accepted Jesus Christ as their Savior, but do not have the assurance of Eternal Life. I tell them "What Jesus Christ did on the cross of Calvary finished the work of salvation for mankind. Now all we must do is to accept Jesus Christ as our personal savior. All of our past, present, and future sins were nailed to the cross." I also tell them, "don't take my word, but take God's Word!"

The Bible tells us in I John 5:11-13: "And this is the record, that God hath given to us eternal life, and this life is in his Son. He that hath the Son hath life; and he that hath not the Son of God hath not life. These things have I written unto you that believe on the name of the Son of God; that ye may know that ye have eternal life, and that ye may believe on the name of the Son of God." Furthermore, the Bible says in Psalm 103:12: "As far as the east is from the west, so far hath he removed our transgressions from us."

In conclusion, Isaiah 38:17 says: "Behold, for peace I had great bitterness: but thou hast in love to my soul delivered it from the pit of corruption: for thou hast cast all my sins behind thy back." Trust God and throw down the doubt in your mind. Don't trust your feelings, but trust God's Word, For He is Truth!


II - The Bible: Foundation of Christianity

There are so-called Christians today that doubt the Word of God; they pick and choose what they want to believe about God through the Bible. Some Bible teachers say that only the "thoughts" are inspired, and that not every word in the Bible is inspired (breathed upon) by God. The truth is that God's Word, the Bible, is true and is never contradictory, but many think so because of their lack of understanding. Understanding the Bible is the key to knowing God. To see clearly what God is trying to teach you, you must pray to the Holy Spirit and step back at a distance to see the whole picture.

Matthew 5:18
"For verily I say unto you, till heaven and earth pass, one jot or tittle shall in no wise pass from the law, till all be fulfilled."

Luke 21:33
"Heaven and earth shall pass away: but my words shall not pass away."

II Timothy 3:16
"All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness."

Hebrews 4:12
"For the word of God is quick, and powerful, and sharper than any two edged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit, and of the joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart."

II Peter 1:20,21
"Knowing this first, that no prophecy of the scripture is of any private interpretation. For the prophecy came not in old time by the will of man: but holy men of God spake as they were moved by the Holy Ghost."

The Bible makes it clear that every child of God is, "Once saved and always saved!" Today, many religious people deny the Word of God and try to add their vain (empty) goodness to God's Word. Those that believe that a Child of God (a Christian) can lose his salvation, are simply unsatisfied with what Christ has done for them on the cross of Calvary. While Jesus was on the cross he said, "It is Finished!" These words didn't mean his life was over, but that the sins of the whole world, past-present-and future, had been "paid for" by Him. As the veil in the temple was torn from top to bottom this was showing forth as a sign to the world, that Jesus Christ is the only High Priest or Mediator to God or the "only way" of going to Heaven. As one of the great hymns says, "Jesus paid it all, all to him I owe, sin had left a crimson stain, but he (Jesus) washed it white as snow!"

John 14:6
"Jesus said unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me."

With all reverence to my Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, I am going to show the ridiculousness or stupidity of those that believe they can lose salvation after receiving Jesus Christ as his personal Savior. If it was ever possible for a person to lose salvation then God would have to give up the following:

His Seal
Ephesians 1:13, 14: "In whom ye also trusted, after that ye heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation: in whom also after that ye believed, ye were sealed with that Holy Spirit of promise. Which is the earnest of our inheritance until the redemption of the purchased possession, unto the praise of his glory."

Ephesians 4:30: "And grieve not the Holy Spirit of God, whereby ye are sealed unto the day of redemption."

His Power
John 1:12: "But as many as received him to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name."

I Peter 1:5: "Who are kept by the power of God through faith unto salvation ready to be revealed in the last time."

His Seed
I Peter 1:23: "Being born again, not of corruptible seed, but of incorruptible, by the word of God, which liveth and abideth forever."

His Name
John 17:12: "While I was with them in the world, I kept them in thy name: those that thou gavest me I have kept, and none of them is lost, but the son of perdition: that the scripture might be fulfilled."

His Performance
Philippians 1:6: "Being confident of this very thing, that he which hath begun a good work in you will perform it until the day of Jesus Christ."


III - God's Simple Salvation

This is one of the most controversial or argued subjects in the world. The great Evangelist D.L. Moody once said something like this pertaining to salvation: There are only two religions in this world, "Do" and "Done." A person is either doing something to get to heaven or trusting in someone (Jesus Christ) that has already done it all.

Many churches in the realm of Christianity today, preach another Gospel other than John 3:16. They preach that you have to "Do" something to go to Heaven. They think that a Christian must be baptized by water, join the church, live by the Ten Commandments, dress a certain way, or live a good moral life to go to Heaven. This my friends is a bunch of Hog Wash in God's sight.

These type Christians (Church Religions) preach not the true Gospel but promote a false way of Salvation. They deny the power of the Lord Jesus Christ to save them totally. These religions are Christian counterfeits that have added something to the spotless blood of Jesus Christ to get to heaven instead of trusting Jesus Christ 100% to take them to heaven. The "Law of Grace" (trusting Jesus Christ) and the "Law of Works" (trusting your ability and determination) are direct opposites and when brought together, they nullify or cancel each other out."

The "Done" religion is in simply trusting Jesus Christ alone as your Savior. John 14:6 says, "Jesus said unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but my me."

God's Simple Plan of Salvation

1. "You must realize, that you are a "SINNER!"
(Romans 3:23 says, "For all have sinned and come short of the glory of God.")

2. "You must realize, that there is a Payment or Penalty for SIN!"
(Romans 6:23 says, "For the wages of sin is death ...")

3. "You must realize, that Jesus Christ DIED for SINNERS!"
(Romans 5:8 says, "But God commendeth (showed) his love toward us, in that, while we were sinners, Christ died for us.")

4. "You must have a GODLY SORROW for your SINS!"
(II Corinthians 7:10 says, "For godly sorrow worketh repentance to salvation not to be repented of :")

5. "You must CONFESS WITH BELEIF, that JESUS CHRIST is LORD and RAISED FROM THE DEAD by GOD (The Anointed Messiah - Savior of the World)!"
(Romans 10:9 says, "That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt beleive in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved.")

6. "You must BELEIVE, that there are NO WORKS of YOUR OWN for SALVATION and when you do accept CHRIST JESUS, you must tell someone or MAKE IT KNOWN!"
(Romans 10:10 says, "For with the heart man beleiveth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.")

7. "You must RECEIVE GOD'S GIFT OF ETERNAL LIFE!"
(Romans 10:13 says, "For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.")

Remember This Formula
Faith in Jesus = Heaven
But!
Religion and your own works = Hell

(Don't be religious, and lost; Let down your pride and accept Jesus Christ as your personal Savior by 100% faith! If you ever doubt what is the true Gospel, read John 3:16 and Ephesians 2:8, 9!)

"PRAYER OF SALVATION"

If you would like to "Receive" JESUS CHRIST as your "Personal Lord and Savior", here is a simple example of a Prayer, that you can "Pray" to receive "God's Salvation" for your "LIFE (Body, Soul & Spirit)!" *This Prayer, "MUST COME FROM YOUR HEART WITH A TRUE DESIRE FOR GOD", But It Can Not Be Some Kind Of Meaningless Prayer (Like A "Religious Act (Just Going through the Motions)" or Like A "Robot!")! Again, if you desire to accept JESUS CHRIST as your "Personal Lord and Savior", Pray This Simple Prayer >From Your Heart For God's Salvation!

"DEAR LORD JESUS, I come to you, Right Now, as a "Hell-Bound Sinner" in Need of "The Savior Of My Soul!" I ask you to "Please Forgive Me For All Of My Sins!" I BELIEVE, that "You Paid Sin's Price And Penalty On The Cross Of Calvary For ALL Of My Sins (Past, Present & Future)"; And After You Were Buried, I BELIEVE, That You Arose From The Grave On The Third Day(3rd) Victorious Over Death And Hell!" "I Accept You Now, JESUS CHRIST, As My Personal Lord And Savior!" Thank You for Shedding Your "Precious Sinless Blood" and "Giving Me Eternal Life" (THAT ONLY BY YOUR GRACE and THROUGH MY 100% FAITH IN YOU, LORD JESUS), that I have now become a "Child Of God" and will spend "Eternity With You!" IV - What Happens at the Point of Salvation

The Bible makes it clear that a person who accepts Jesus Christ as his personal Savior becomes a new creature in Christ at salvation (II Corinthians 5:17). The sinner's sins are washed away by the blood of Jesus Christ (I John 1:7). Thanks to Calvary, Christians that were once filthy lost sinners without hope of heaven within themselves, but by simply trusting Jesus Christ as their Savior, now inherit eternal life as a child of God.

The following are five points that take place at the very moment of salvation in Jesus Christ. ICorinthians 6:11 says, "And such were some of you: but ye are washed, but ye are sanctified, but ye are justified in the name of the Lord Jesus, and by the Spirit of our God."

1. We Become Sanctified Unto God
This means simply, that the person is "set apart," "separated unto God," or "the property of God!"

Hebrews 13:12: "Wherefore Jesus also, that he might sanctify the people with his own blood, suffered without the gate."

I Peter 1:2: "Elect according to the foreknowledge of God the Father, through sanctification of the Spirit, unto obedience and sprinkling of the blood of Jesus Christ: Grace be unto you, and peace, be multiplied."

2. We Become Justified Unto God
This means simply to stand before God innocent, spotless of sin, and without any guilt, even though once guilty of sin and deserving of Hell.

Acts 13:39: "And by him all that believe are justified from all things, from which ye could not be justified by the law of Moses."

Romans 5:1: "Therefore being justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ."

3. We Become Reconciled Unto God
This means to be "joined back together as one!"

II Corinthians 5:18: "And all things are of God, who hath reconciled us to himself by Jesus Christ, and hath given to us the ministry of reconciliation."

Colossians 1:20: "And, having made peace through the blood of his cross, by him to reconcile all things unto himself; by him, I say, whether they be things in earth, or things in heaven."

Hebrews 2:17: "Wherefore in all things it behoved him to be made like unto his brethren, that he might be a merciful and faithful high priest in things pertaining to God, to make reconciliation for the sins of the people."

4. We Become A Partaker Of God's Promises!
Hebrews 6:18: "That by two immutable things, in which it was impossible for God to lie, we might have a strong consolation, who have fled for refuge to lay hold upon the hope set before us."

Titus 1:2: "In hope of eternal life, which God, that cannot lie, promised before the world began."

Romans 3:4: "God forbid; yea, let God be true, but every man a liar; as it is written that thou mightest be justified in thy sayings, and mightest overcome when thou art judged."

Hebrews 7:25-28: "Wherefore he is able also to save them to the uttermost that come unto God by him, seeing he ever liveth to make intercession for them. For such an high priest became us, who is holy, harmless, undefiled, separate from sinners, and made higher that the heavens; Who needeth not daily, as those high priests, to offer up sacrifice, first for his own sins, and then for the people's, for this he did once, when he offered up himself."

Luke 10:20: "Notwithstanding in this rejoice not, that the spirits are subject unto you; but rather rejoice, because your names are written in heaven."

5. We become a Recipient of God's Care and Watchfulness!
I Peter 1:1-5: "Peter, an apostle of Jesus Christ, to the strangers scattered throughout Pontius, Galatia, Cappadocia, Asia, and Bithynia. Elect according to the foreknowledge of God the Father, through sanctification of the Spirit, unto obedience and sprinkling of the blood of Jesus Christ: Grace unto you, and peace, be multiplied. Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, which according to his abundant mercy hath begotten us again unto a lively hope by the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead, to an inheritance incorruptible, and undefiled, and that fadeth not away, reserved in heaven for you. Who are kept by the power of God through faith unto salvation ready to be revealed in the last time."

Romans 8:17: "And if children, then heirs; heirs of God, and joint-heirs with Christ: if so be that we suffer with him, that we may be also glorified together."

John 10:27-29: "My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me: And I give unto them eternal life; and they shall never perish, neither shall any man pluck them out of my hand. My Father, which gave them me, is greater than all: and no man is able to pluck them out of my Father's hand."

V - Dynamic Scriptures on Eternal Security
These twenty scripture verses on the belief of Eternal Security proclaim the length of salvation through Jesus Christ, being as long as forever. For me, as an "Old Fashioned Bible-Believing Baptist Preacher" the only concrete verse I need is John 3:16. That verse is simple and to the point. For me, God says it, and that settles it! A fool does not follow God, but follows his own heart. Anyone not following God is worshiping Satan directly or indirectly. The question that you should ask yourself is, "Do I take God at his Word?"

John 3:16
For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.

John 3:36
He that believeth on the Son hath everlasting life: and he that believeth not the Son shall not see life; but the wrath of God abideth on him.

John 5:24
Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that heareth my word, and believeth on him that sent me, hath everlasting life, and shall not come into condemnation; but is passed from death unto life.

John 6:35
And Jesus said unto them, I am the bread of life: he that cometh to me shall never hunger; and he that believeth on me shall never thirst.

John 6:37
All that the Father giveth me shall come to me; and him that cometh to me I will in no wise cast out.

John 6:40
And this is the will of him that sent me, that every one which seeth the Son, and believeth on him, may have everlasting life: and I will raise him up at the last day.

John 6:47
Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that believeth on me hath everlasting life.

I am the living bread which came down from heaven: if any man eat of this bread, he shall live for ever: and the bread that I will give is my flesh, which I will give for the life of the world.

Jesus said unto her, I am the resurrection, and the life: he that believeth in me, though he were dead, yet shall he live: and whosoever liveth and believeth in me shall never die. Believest thou this?

But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name.

Romans 6:23
For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.

Colossians 2:2,3
That their hearts might be comforted, being knit together in love, and unto all riches of the full assurance of understanding, to the acknowledgement of the mystery of God, and of the Father, and of Christ: in whom are hid all the treasures of wisdom and knowledge.

I Timothy 1:16,17
Howbeit for this cause I obtained mercy, that in me first Jesus Christ might show forth all longsuffering, for a pattern to them which should hereafter believe on him to life everlasting. Now unto the King eternal, immortal, invisible, the only wise God, be honour and glory for ever and ever. Amen.

II Timothy 1:22
For the which cause I also suffer these things: nevertheless I am not ashamed: for I know whom I have believed, and am persuaded that he is able to keep that which I have committed unto him against that day.

Hebrews 7:25
Wherefore he is able also to save them to the uttermost that come unto God by him, seeing he ever liveth to make intercession for them.

Hebrews 10:22,23
Let us draw near with a true heart in full assurance of faith, having our hearts sprinkled from an evil conscience, and our bodies washed with pure water. Let us holdfast the profession of our faith without wavering (for he is faithful that promised).

I John 5:4,5
For whatsoever is born of God overcometh the world: and this is the victory that overcometh the world, even our faith. Who is he that overcometh the world, but he that believeth that Jesus is the Son of God?

I John 5:11-13
And this is the record, that God hath given to us eternal life, and this life is in his Son. He that hath the Son hath life; and he that hath not the Son of God hath not life. These things have I written unto you that believe on the name of the Son of God; that ye may know that ye have eternal life, and that ye may believe on the name of the Son of God.

I John 5:18
We know that whosoever is born of God sinneth not; but he that is begotten of God keepeth himself, and that wicked one toucheth him not.


VI - Controversial Scriptures Answered

My friends, it is impossible for God Almighty to contradict Himself, but the missing ingredient is true understanding of God's Word. To understand the Bible fully, a person must first be a Christian. "God's Salvation" is made very clear in Ephesians 2: 8, 9 , which says, "For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: not by works, lest any man should boast." Even the Apostle Peter said as he spoke to the Jerusalem Council, that salvation is by grace through faith in Jesus Christ alone and that ceremonial law has no part in salvation (Acts 15:5-11, Ephesians 2:8,9).

The Bible character that best proves the belief, "Once Saved, Always Saved," would be the backslidden and worldly Mr. Lot. Lot was the nephew of Abraham who was the Father of the Hebrews or Israel Nation. Lot made a very terrible decision by choosing to raise his family in a very wicked city, "Sodom." He was not a whoremonger or a homosexual, but became a civic leader in the city. When God destroyed Sodom, Lot lost his wife, who was turned into a pillar of salt, and also lost at least two of his married daughters and their husbands. His other daughters got him drunk and committed the act of incest with him.

Furthermore, his two sons, one from each daughter, became two enemy nations against the God of Israel. If there ever was a man that did not live or act like a Christian, it had to be this man called Lot. Important Note: On the contrary, the Bible says this about Lot. In II Peter 2:7-9, "And delivered just Lot, vexed with the filthy conversation of the wicked: (For that righteous man dwelling among them, in seeing and hearing, vexed his righteous soul from day to day with their unlawful deeds;) the Lord knoweth how to deliver the godly out of temptations, and to reserve the unjust unto the day of judgement to be punished." Truly, Lot was a child of God eternally justified and righteous before the sight of God. Now, let's look at some scriptures that seem to disagree with the Bible belief of "Once Saved, Always Saved!"

There are also some scriptures that seem to promote ceremonial customs for salvation. All of these controversial scriptures shall be clearly answered or refuted. Let me say that these verses are just as much a part of God's Word than any other, but have been twisted by some churches in which the true meaning of salvation and the believer's assurance of salvation has been distorted.

Mark 16:16
"He that believeth and is baptized shall be saved; but he that believeth not shall be damned."

Here is a verse that seems to say, that for a person to go to heaven, he must be baptized. The key to understanding this verse is in the last half of the verse. It says, "but he that believeth not shall be damned." The emphasis is on "believing" on Jesus Christ for salvation, not in the baptism.

John 3:3-6
"Jesus answered and said unto him Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God. Nicodemus sa'tth unto him How can a man be born when he is old? Can he enter the second time unto his mother's womb, and be born? Jesus answered, Verily verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born of water and of the Spirit, he cannot enter into the Kingdom of God. That which is born of flesh is flesh; and that which born of the Spirit is spirit."

Many so called Christians try to make these verses say, that a person must be baptized to go to heaven. In the verse, "Except a man be born of water and of the Spirit, he cannot enter into the kingdom of God," they say a person must accept Jesus Christ as their Savior, but must also be baptized to go to heaven. This belief is far from the truth about God's plan of salvation.

The key to understanding John 3:5 is in the following verse. In John 3:6 Jesus is saying to Nicodemus that he must be born physically (of the water) and then be born spiritually by accepting Jesus Christ as his Savior. Every person is born with a dead or unregenerated spirit because all mankind inherited Adam's sin that was committed in the Garden of Eden. All mankind shall face eternal doom in the Lake of Fire, if their spirit is not regenerated or given eternal life with Christ.

Acts 2:38
"Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost."

Many people reading this verse get the wrong meaning of it. This verse seems to say that a person must be baptized to have his/her sins washed away or to be saved. That view is far from the truth. The word "for" in the verse is the Greek word "eis" which simply means "because of." So what the verse is actually saying is this, because you have received Jesus Christ and your sins have been washed away, be baptized out of identification with him and as an act of obedience to God, after salvation. Baptism symbolizes the death, burial, and resurrection of Jesus Christ and when a Christian gets baptized by water he or she is identifying with Christ. "Being baptized in the Spirit" takes place at the very moment of salvation, because the Holy Ghost comes to live in the heart of every Christian eternally, as a gift from God (this happens only once in the life of every believer).

I Corinthians 6:9-11
"Know ye not that the unrighteous shall not inherit the kingdom of God? Be not deceived: neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor effeminate, nor abusers of themselves with mankind, nor thieves, nor covetous, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor extortioners, shall inherit the kingdom of God. And such were some of you: but ye are washed, but ye are sanctified, but ye are justified in the name of the Lord Jesus, and by the Spirit of our God."

"The Unrighteous" is the name of all sinners, before they accept Jesus Christ as their Savior. I thank the Lord for his magnificent work that he performs on all of his children at the time of salvation. As a child of God we are eternally cleansed from our sins, sanctified (set-apart) as God's trophy or possession, and justified (accepted) before God forever. I believe that the Apostle Paul is reminding the Church of Corinth, of which standing they came from, "Lost without God" and the standing of which God has brought them to, "A Child of God With A Home In Heaven."

Galatians 5:2-6
"Behold, I Paul say unto you, that if ye be circumcised, Christ shall profit you nothing. For I testify again to every man that is circumcised, that he is a debtor to do the whole law. Christ is become of no effect unto you, whosoever of you are justified by the law; ye are fallen from grace. For we through the Spirit wait for the hope of righteousness by faith. For in Jesus Christ neither circumcision availeth anything, nor uncircumcision; but faith which worketh by love."

The Church of Galatia had a real problem with the "Law of Grace" and the "Law of Works" or "Ceremonialism." They believed, that for a person to be saved, he must be circumcised. This belief is far from the truth. Circumcision is a ceremonial sign or act that is performed on boys or men to become a Jew. Christ's death on the cross and his resurrection did away with ceremonialism for salvation according to the Bible (Acts 15:5-11 and Titus 3:5). The saying, "ye are fallen from grace," pertains to all religious, but lost people trying, to get to heaven by their good works. This phrase clearly says, that they shall fall short of God's grace, because they have made themselves their own God and have spit on the gift of eternal life through Jesus Christ by their actions. Special Note: The Galatian Church (Body of Believers) had allowed the ceremonies (Such as "circumcision") of Judaism to contaminate the "Law of Grace." The Apostle Paul told them , "Ye are fallen from grace," trying to mix "Grace" and "Ceremonialism" together. This church stopped preaching, that God's Salvation is by God's Grace (The Un-Merited Love of God) by 100% Faith in the Lord Jesus Christ, but started to teach "Cursed Lies of False Doctrine or Heresy. Those "True Christians" in the church, that started to believe a "false doctrine" concerning God's Salvation, "didn't lose their eternal salvation," but simply "Fell Out Of Favor With God." Key Note: If the "New Church Members" of Galatia were preached a "False Doctrine" of God's Salvation and accepted Christ with the understanding, that ceremonies are part of God's Salvation (Or that the price, that Jesus Christ paid on the "Cross of Calvary" was "Not Quite Good Enough" for the "Redemption of their sins), then there Salvation is VOID or EMPTY without God's Approval! Adam's son "Cain" is a great example of this-Genesis 4:1-6. (Checkout these scriptures- Galatians 4: 9-11; 5: 1-6)

Galatians 5:19-21
"Now the works of the flesh are manifest, which are these; adultery, fornication, uncleanness, lasciviousness, idolatry, witchcraft, hatred, variance, emulations, wrath, strife, seditions, heresies, envyings, murders, drunkenness, revellings and such like: of the which I tell you before, as I have also told you in time past, that they which do such things shall not inherit the kingdom of God."

The 5th chapter of Galatians deals with a Christian's liberty or choice to live by the "Spirit of God" or the "Works of the flesh." The Apostle Paul promotes that it's wise to live by the "Spirit." Key Note: The "Kingdom of God" represents "God's Power" in Heaven and in Earth. In I Corinthians 4:20, we find the definition in the Bible of the "Kingdom of God", which says "For the kingdom of God is not in word, but in power." The same word for "Power" is found in Acts 1: 8, which says "But ye shall receive power , after that the Holy Ghost is come upon you: and ye shall be witnesses unto me both in Jerusalem, and in all Judea, and in Samaria, and unto the uttermost part of the earth." The Greek word for "Power", in these scripture verses is "dunamis"(The English word for this is "Dinamite."), which means "miraculous power" or "mighty wonderful work." As the children of God, if we do the "works of the flesh", we will "not inherit" or "have" "God's Power" on the Earth to defeat Satan, when he attacks us. We will become "Defeated Children of God (Just like the Israelites were, when they refused to obey God and cross over the Jordan River into the "Promised Land")." God wants us to live in the "Spirit",so that, we may live the "Victorious Christian Life" in the presence of Almighty God (No matter, where it takes us)!

Salvation is a one-time experience in a Christian's life, but not an on-again or off-again experience. God's salvation is forever.

The Apostle Paul encourages Christians to live for Christ. Galatians 5:24, 25 says, "And they that are Christ's have crucified the flesh with the affections and lusts. If we live in the Spirit, let us also walk in the Spirit." Praise God, that at the point of salvation all of a Christian's sins are removed forever. Psalm 103:12 says, "As far as the east is from the west, so far hath he removed our transgressions from us." A Christian's spirit can not ever sin or do the works of the flesh again as stated in I John 5:18. I Corinthians 6:9-11 will further re-enforce the interpretation of these scriptures.

Philippians 2:12
"Wherefore, my beloved, as ye have always obeyed, not as in my presence only, but now much more in my absence, work out your own salvation with fear and trembling."

Many people think that it's up to mankind to find out how to go to heaven their own way by this verse. That is far from the truth. The Apostle Paul is writing and telling the church at Philippi that they need to start living by the Word of God. In other words, they need to take the baton and go with it or hit a homerun for Jesus with their Christian life. Truly, the world needs Christians that will serve God with fear and realize how great God really is! Philippians 2:13-16 gives the explanation of "work out your own salvation with fear and trembling."

Hebrews 6:4-6
"For it is impossible for those who were once enlightened, and have tasted of the heavenly gift, and were made partakers of the Holy Ghost, and have tasted the good word of God, and the powers of the world to come, if they shall fall away, to renew them again unto repentance; seeing they crucify to themselves the Son of God afresh, and put him to an open shame."

These three scripture verses come together to make one sentence. The full meaning of this sentence is seen clearly by combining part of verse 4 and verse 6 together. Here is the combination of the two verses, "For it is impossible, if they shall fall away, to renew them again unto repentance." These verses are saying, that repentance for salvation happens only once in a Christians life. If a Christian could lose salvation and have to be saved again, that would mean what Jesus Christ did on the cross wasn't good enough.

James 2:17,18,20
"Even so faith, if it hath not works, is dead, being alone. Yea, a man may say, Thou hast faith, and I have works: show me thy faith, without thy works, and I will show thee my faith by my works. But wilt thou know, O vain man, that faith without works is dead?"

The book of James was written to show Christians how they can be justified by their neighbors or mankind. These verses are speaking of a Christian's testimony or way of life. When reading the phrase, "faith without works is dead," it is not speaking of a Christian's salvation being lost, but is saying, that without godly works, a Christian's testimony is dead when seen in the eyes of the world.

Revelations 21:8
"But the fearful and unbelieving, and the abominable, and murderers, and whoremongers, and sorcerers, and idolaters, and all liars, shall have their part in the lake which burneth with fire and brimstone: which is the second death."

This verse includes, what some people classify as small sins (lies and idol worship) and large sins, such as murders and witchcraft. The truth is, God doesn't classify sin as small or large, but that all sin is sin! King David in the Old Testament was an adulterer and murderer, but God forgave him for his sin and he is in heaven today. Again, as I mentioned in Galatians 5:19-21and in I Corinthians 6:9-11, if you die without trusting Jesus Christ as your personal Savior, one of the names will be given to you that is listed in these verses.


VII - The Acid-Test of a Sure Salvation

There are many qualities that are seen in all Christians such as: a persecution by the world, a love to all Christians, a desire to read and hear the Word of God, and above all, a Holy Spirit conviction when a Christian sins. The key to a sure salvation is seen in God's jealousy toward his own children.

The Bible tells us in Hebrews 12:6-8, "For whom the Lord loveth he chasteneth, and scourgeth every son whom he receiveth. If ye endure chastening, God dealeth with you as with sons; for what son is he whom the father chasteneth not? But if ye be without chastisement, whereof all are partakers, then are ye bastards, and not sons." In Proverbs 3:11, 12 the Bible also tells us, "My son, despise not the chastening of the Lord; neither be weary of his correction. For whom the Lord loveth he correcteth; even as a father the son in whom he delighteth."

At the point of salvation, every Christian becomes the possession of God Almighty. The Bible says in I Corinthians 6:19, 20, "What? know ye not that your body is the temple of the Holy Ghost which is in you, which ye have of God, and ye are not your own? For ye are bought with a price: therefore glorify God in your body, and in your spirit, which are God's." When a person gets saved, he can no longer enjoy sin ever again!

Let me ask you this question. Do you feel good after you've sinned? If sin bothers you, there's a very good possibility that you are saved. Remember, no Christian shall escape the rod of correction by his heavenly father, but also no lost person shall ever escape the fires of hell by rejecting Jesus Christ as his/her savior.

The Holy Spirit of God lives inside the Christian to convict him of sin, but a lost person doesn't have God inside to convict of sin,

Let's look at three important scripture passages that teach: (1) The simplicity of salvation, (2) The completeness of salvation and, (3) The assurance of salvation.

I. The Simplicity of Salvation
Luke 23: 42, 43 "And he said unto Jesus, Lord, remember me when thou comest into thy kingdom. And Jesus said unto him, verily I say unto thee, To day shalt thou be with me in paradise."

II. Completeness of Salvation

Colossians 2:10-14 And ye are complete in him, which is the head of all principality and power: in whom also ye are circumcised with the circumcision made without hands, in putting off the body of the sins of the flesh by the circumcision of Christ: buried with him in baptism, wherein also ye are risen with him through faith of the operation of God, who hath raised him from the dead. And you, being dead in your sins and the uncircumcision of your flesh, hath he quickened together with him, having forgiven you all trespasses; blotting out the handwriting of ordinances that was against us, which was contrary to us, and took it out of the way, nailing it to the cross: and having spoiled principalities and powers, he made a show of them openly, triumphing over them in it."

III. The Assurance of Salvation
1 John 5:11-13 "And this is the record, that God hath given to us eternal life, and this life is in his Son. He that hath the Son hath life; and he that hath not the Son of God hath not life. These things have I written unto you that believe on the name of the Son of God; that ye may know that ye have eternal life, and that ye may believe on the name of the Son of God."

Conclusion

I pray that you have allowed God to speak to your heart through the pages of this book. The simple plan of God's salvation was explained, the assurance of salvation of the believer (the Christian) was proved, and the controversial scriptures, on salvation,in the Bible were discussed, in order that we might guarantee that once a person receives Jesus Christ as his/her personal savior, he is eternally saved. I believe that any Christian reading this book would have to say, "This book puts the lid on the jar of all doubting minds!"

The ultimate verse on Eternal Security is found in Matthew 7:21-23, "Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven. Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name? and in thy name have cast out devils? and in thy name done many wonderful works? and then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity."

There are many workers of iniquity in Bible-Believing Churches today that are "so-called Christians;" that are "Religious, but lost." Matthew 7:21-23 says that only those that do the will of the Father will get to heaven. The "will of the Father" does not refer to your good deeds, but only your one time salvation experience by accepting Christ in your heart as your personal savior.

Another important point is this: Jesus will tell you to depart from him because he never knew you, if you were never saved! The Bible tells us throughout, that once a person is "saved" or is "known of God" that God will never leave him/her nor forsake him/her! (Heb. 13:5)

Please claim God's promises for your life!
